The Best Farmers Markets to Visit in Connecticut — 2026 Guide

The Best Farmers Markets to Visit in Connecticut — 2026 Guide

Published by Tucker's Pie Co. | April 2026

If you live in Connecticut, you already know that farmers market season is one of the best times of year. Fresh produce, local vendors, live music, and the kind of community feeling that's hard to find anywhere else.

We should know — Tucker's Pie Co. has been showing up at Connecticut farmers markets with our handcrafted gourmet pot pies, quiches, and sausage rolls for a few years. We've met thousands of incredible people, sold out of our Steak & Guinness more times than we can count, and fallen in love with the local food community all over again every single season.

So we thought — who better to write the guide to the Connecticut farmers markets we love in 2026?

Here's everything you need to know about the markets we'll be attending this season — and where you can come find us.

🌿 Wallingford Outdoor Market — New Haven County

When: Saturdays from May
Where: Wallingford, CT
What to expect: A wonderful community market with a great mix of fresh produce, local food vendors, and artisan goods. The perfect way to start a Saturday morning. Come early — the best stuff goes fast.

Tucker's tip: We kick off our market season here every year. It's always a warm welcome back and we love seeing familiar faces after the winter break. Worth the drive from Fairfield County!

🌿 Trumbull Farmers Market — Fairfield County

When: Thursdays from our schedule
Where: Trumbull, CT
What to expect: A fantastic midweek market right in the heart of Fairfield County. Trumbull has a great local community and the market reflects that — friendly vendors, quality produce, and a really welcoming atmosphere.

Tucker's tip: A Thursday market is such a great way to break up the week. Pop by after work, grab some fresh produce and a Tucker's pie for dinner — sorted.

🌿 Wilton Farmers Market — Fairfield County

When: Wednesdays from June
Where: Wilton, CT
What to expect: A midweek gem in the heart of Fairfield County. Great for picking up fresh ingredients for the week — and yes, stocking up on pies for easy weeknight dinners.

Tucker's tip: Midweek markets have a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Less crowded, more time to chat with vendors and really explore what's on offer.

🌿 Fairfield Farmers Market — Fairfield County

When: Sundays from June
Where: Fairfield, CT
What to expect: One of the most popular markets in lower Fairfield County. A wide variety of vendors, excellent food options, and a fantastic atmosphere right in the heart of Fairfield. Always busy, always worth it.

Tucker's tip: We're so excited to be joining the Fairfield Market this season. Come find us and grab a pie — we'll be there every Sunday through the season.

🌿 Ridgefield Farmers Market — Fairfield County

When: Saturdays from June through October
Where: Ridgefield, CT
What to expect: A beautiful market in one of Connecticut's most charming towns. Ridgefield has a strong community of local food producers and the market reflects that perfectly — high quality, friendly vendors, and a real sense of local pride.

Tucker's tip: Ridgefield is one of our favourites. The Saturday morning atmosphere is unbeatable, especially as the season progresses and the autumn colours start to appear.

🌿 Coventry Regional Farmers Market — Tolland County

When: Sundays from June through October
Where: Coventry, CT
What to expect: One of Connecticut's most beloved markets and worth every mile of the drive. The Coventry Regional Farmers Market has a fantastic reputation for quality and variety — produce, meat, dairy, baked goods, prepared foods, and more. It's a full morning out and a true Connecticut institution.

Tucker's tip: We are so excited to be joining the Coventry market for the very first time this season! It's been on our radar for a while and we can't wait to meet the Coventry community. Come say hello and be part of our first weekend there — it's going to be a big one.

🎉 Special Events Worth Marking in Your Calendar

Beyond the weekly markets, Connecticut hosts some incredible food and community festivals throughout the year. Here are a few we're especially excited about in 2026:

Dogwood Festival — May, Fairfield County
A Fairfield County tradition. A wonderful spring celebration with great food, entertainment, and community spirit. We'll be there both days — come say hello.

Fairfield International Food Festival — September, Fairfield County
A highlight of the food calendar. The Fairfield International Food Festival brings together an incredible variety of cuisines and food vendors from across the region. If you've never been, put it on your list. We'll be there representing the humble but mighty pot pie.

CT Garlic Festival — October, Connecticut
Two days of pure New England autumn goodness. The CT Garlic Festival is one of those events that gets better every year. Great food, great people, and a celebration of everything we love about local Connecticut produce.

How to Get the Most Out of Farmers Market Season

After years of attending markets across Connecticut, here's what we've learned:

  • Go early. The best produce and the most popular food vendors sell out. Showing up at opening time means first pick of everything.
  • Bring cash. Many vendors still prefer it and it speeds things up for everyone.
  • Pack a cooler. If you're planning to buy meat, dairy, or frozen goods (like our pies!), a cooler bag in the car means you can shop freely without worrying about the drive home.
  • Talk to the vendors. This is the best part of farmers markets. We're not just selling pies — we love talking about food, sharing recipes, and hearing what our customers enjoy. Every vendor has a story. Ask them about it.
  • Follow your favourites on social media. Markets sometimes change dates, locations, or have special weeks. Following vendors and the markets themselves on Instagram or Facebook is the best way to stay up to date.
